AES Recycling is delighted to once again partner with Laois County Council in supporting Clean Up Laois Week, which returns from Monday 6th April to Friday 10th April 2026. This fantastic community initiative brings together residents, schools, businesses, and local groups across the county to take positive action against litter and help protect the environment we all share.
Clean Up Laois Week has become an important event in the county’s environmental calendar. Each year, communities across Laois come together with a shared goal — to make their local areas cleaner, greener, and more enjoyable for everyone.
Litter not only impacts how our towns and villages look, but it can also harm wildlife, pollute waterways, and affect the overall wellbeing of our communities. By taking part in local clean-up activities, volunteers make a visible and lasting difference to their surroundings while also helping raise awareness about the importance of responsible waste disposal and recycling.
Laois County Council is encouraging community groups, schools, sports clubs, residents’ associations, neighbours, and friends to take part in the initiative this spring. Groups can register with the Laois County Council Environment Section to receive free clean-up packs, which include:
– Litter bags
– Protective gloves
– Litter pickers
These packs help make it easier and safer for volunteers to collect litter and tackle problem areas in their communities. Whether it’s cleaning up a local park, roadside, estate, village centre, or riverbank, every effort helps contribute to a cleaner and healthier county.
As part of our continued partnership with Laois County Council, AES Recycling will collect the litter gathered during Clean Up Laois Week, ensuring it is responsibly managed and processed after the event. Collections will take place during the week 13th–17th April, following the completion of the clean-up activities. At AES Recycling, we believe that community initiatives like this play a vital role in raising awareness about waste management, environmental responsibility, and the importance of keeping recyclable materials out of our natural environment.
We are proud to support Clean Up Laois Week once again and to work alongside Laois County Council and local communities to help make a positive impact. Events like this show what can be achieved when people work together with a shared purpose. Every bag of litter collected and every area restored helps create a cleaner, more welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike. By participating in initiatives such as Clean Up Laois Week, communities are not only improving their local surroundings today but also helping to foster a culture of environmental responsibility for the future.
